In 1805, the student of Vasily Bazhenov, architect Ivan Egotov, built three bridges over a dry ravine: the Big, Small and Third Grotesque. All of them were made of red brick, and for the decoration was used white stone - Ballovka limestone. For facing all the bridges, an uncouth stone was used, which was imprinted in the names "grostsky", that is, wild, rough. By the middle of the twentieth century, the Small Bridge was in a dilapidated state. Restoration work on the restoration of the Small Bridge was carried out under the guidance of the architect M.V. Dyakonova in 1961. By the beginning of the 1990s, he again fell into a ruined state, the cabinets were thrown into a ravine. The second restoration was carried out in 2007.
