Overall I liked it. The monument is very impressive. Goes to the bone. Hangs over you, as if demanding remember you have no right to forget. And "leaves" in the sky like cranes ... The idea and performance of the artists delights. But not without a spoon of ointment. The park is small around. There is no urn, from the word at all. Again they teach the people that who will clean them up for them and if they still hold on to the memorial, or maybe the employees lick everything, the parking lot is all in rubbish. To some extent, the weak-conscious citizens can be understood. No urns. Is that what the orgy were thinking? Second museum! Yes, not expensive. 100 rub per person. But this is not a museum, it is part of an exhibition under a roof of 25 sq m across the floor and a store of all kinds of rubbish. Where on the main screen you are shown not the history of the Battle of Rzhev, but the construction of the memorial. Shame. Apparently the greatest achievement of Putin's Russia, which is much higher than the feat of our ancestors. If it were not for the glass floor with helmets, machine guns and other objects of those events (although personally it seemed to me blasphemy how you walk on the grave, I could not step on) and the very inspired reading "I was killed near Rzhev" I would have thought it was a "museum" construction sites, the feeling that you were deceived. However, I will repeat as a whole the memorial is serious, fascinating, the artists have surpassed themselves, and the bureaucrats have again slightly spoiled, their task is apparently the following.

The monument was erected in 1973 in the railroad park in memory of the heroism of railroad workers during the Great Patriotic War. The front part of the SU 208-64 steam locomotive, which turns into a concrete pedestal in the form of a wing, on which a commemorative inscription-dedication. Now the park is being tidied up, tiled and renovated.

The lanterns look interesting, but I'm waiting for the old fountain in its place

The first monument to railway workers that I have ever seen. Visiting him was one of the main points when traveling to Rzhev. I liked the monument, but it would not hurt to renew the paint. The park (or square) in which it stands is not very well-groomed, full of rubbish, and there are playgrounds there. And also, there is a broken fountain nearby, if you can still call it that, which is better either to be demolished or restored.
