Of the architectural ensemble of Kuskovo of the 18th century, the complex of buildings of the Italian pond, which includes The grotto, the Italian house, the Menagery group and the pond itself. These structures were designed to create in the estate of small Italy. The house was built in 1754-1755 under the direction of Yu.I. Kologrivov. The Italian house served as a palace for "small receptions." It also kept a collection of rare works of art, which gave the small palace the uniqueness of the museum. Now there remains a small part of the former collection, the objects of which were transferred to the Hermitage and to Ostankino, but the remaining collection is impressive! The restoration of the Italian house has recently been completed, now it probably looks as elegant and bright as in the 18th century.
