Morea column

In a quiet corner of the park, at the convergence of three alleys, in 1771, the Moray Column appeared, symbolizing the victory of Russian weapons over the Ottoman Empire. The author of this creation is not known for certain. The restoration of the column in 1948 was carried out by the architect Zoya Tomashevskaya. The letters of the Cahul obelisk that appeared in the park in the same year were taken as a basis. The monument is made of white and gray Siberian marble with white veins.
