A not too well-known attraction in St. Petersburg are the two palace-like yellow buildings on Architect Rossi Street (Ulitsa Zodchevo Rossi). The street is named after the Italian architect Carlo Rossi (1775 - 1849). The two buildings were built in 1832 and are built in proportion to the street as the facades are exactly 22 meters high, which corresponds to the width of the street. The street is 220 meters long, which is exactly ten times its width. This symmetry is enhanced by the fact that the facades of the two buildings are identical. This street appears in some scenes in the movie Les poupées russes (Russian Dolls) from 2005.

A truly unique street! You have to go there to feel it, and once you’ve felt it, you’ll feel like checking out all the buildings and even streets built by Rossi. And that’s a lot, and it’s all worth it! Back to the unique street, I’ve been here both in summer and winter seasons, and it felt completely different. I can’t stop admiring what a great master Rossi was...

The street is symetrically perfect. It is beautiful in the evening when all is lightened. It is shorter then expected though. It is pity there are parked and passing cars, the effect of architecture is not so impressive then.

Very great stricture to look at but kind of overrated.
