The history of Smolensky Assumption Cathedral is associated with the name of Vladimir Monomakh (1053-1125), Prince of Rostov, Smolensky, Chernihiv, Pereyaslavsky, Grand Prince of Kiev. In 1101, the noble prince laid the first stone church in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Cathedral Hill. The monument was created and installed in 2017.

The monument is located on the courtyard of the Assumption Cathedral. A very beautiful blessed place. Roses are planted around. There are benches, you can sit and think about the past and the future.
