It was a bridge. We walked over it pretty often as we traversed the city. I don't feel like it was hyper romantic or special in anyway. Supremely average.

Single-span arched stone bridge over the Zimnyaya Canal in St. Petersburg. Built in 1720. At first it was wooden. It was rebuilt and restored several times. The bridge is automobile pedestrian. The name was received by the groove of the same name, which crosses.

The Winter Bridge is the common name for two adjacent bridges across the Winter Canal. This bridge, located on the axis of Millionnaya street, since 1940. It is called the 1st Winter Bridge (as indicated by the tablet with its name), because that year the 2nd Winter Bridge was built parallel to it through the Winter Canal. In 1720 on this place, along the axis of Millionnaya Street, a wooden bridge was built. It was rebuilt, then a stone bridge of 1768 was moved to its place. buildings (architect presumably Yu.M. Felten) from a bombarded canal. The facades of the bridge were faced with granite, a blind granite parapet was installed. Previously, this bridge was called German, Millionth, just Winter. 1st Winter Bridge is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. Nearby are the New Hermitage and the building of the State Council Archive (Archive of the Navy) in the neo-renaissance style of 1887. From this bridge, there are wonderful views of the passage with an arch, of the Hermitage Bridge and the Neva, of the 2nd Winter Bridge and the Moika Embankment.

The view, of course, is regal. Therefore, in this place I began to feel like a king. Nicholas II, well, or at least Alexei I, is not at all quiet.
