The Mining Chief's House in Zlatoust is an old two-storey building with a mezzanine, located on the western side of the central square of Zlatoust. It was built in 1783-1786 by the owner of the Zlatoust plant L. Luginin as a residential building. In 1811 the building was partially reconstructed for the mining chiefs. Until 1917, practically all local mining bosses lived in it, replacing each other, including the famous metallurgist in Russia, the founder of the doctrine of steel, P.P. Anosov. Initially, the house had a balcony on the front side, and on the other three sides - small wings. Behind it was a pond, a large garden and a greenhouse. To date, all this has been lost. Since 1933, after another reconstruction, the Zlatoust Museum of Local Lore has been located in the house. The facade of the mining chief's house is divided by pilasters into five uneven parts, the windows of the second floor are decorated with modest sandrids, and the pediment is decorated with a large arched window. Inside, the house was completely redesigned for the needs of the museum.
