The dam of the city pond in Zlatoust is the first hydraulic structure on the Ai River, located in the historical part of Zlatoust between the Urenga and Kosotur mountains. It was built in 1754 by the founders of the local ironworks, the Mosolovs. Initially, the dam consisted of an earthen rampart and wooden technical structures: chests, mirrors, bulls, pigs, cuttings, etc. According to Pavel Anosov, the length of the earthen part of the dam was 98 fathoms, width - 18 fathoms, height - four sazhens. A wooden bridge was built at the top of the dam. During its existence, the dam has been reconstructed several times. In 1915 it was replaced by a reinforced concrete one, which still exists today.
