開蘭行旅 Kailan Hotel

A solid hotel. Everything was nice and clean and seemed very new. The location is convenient if you rent a scooter or borrow their bikes (the first two hours is free).nnThe staff was lovely and our experience was pleasant.nnThe only downside was the breakfast. There were no western choices (other than white bread), just the typical fried rice, tea egg, stir fried veggies and rice porridge. Would have loved some scrambled eggs and/or ham.

Our room was dirty upon arrival. The floor hadn't been cleaned, there were hairs everywhere, with rubbish and mud on the floor. We went downstairs to complain and had to wait for them to clean the room again. After returning to the room, I opened the wardrobe to find what looked like sugar or some kind of sticky crystallised substance on the surface. Some of this went on my clothes. Again, I went downstairs to complain and they said they would clean it - they never did.nnThe view from the room was what looked like an elevator shaft.nnThe lobby in the hotel is pleasant, and the breakfast was good. The room could've been nice, if it had been simply cleaned. But for a guest to have to complain about cleanliness twice is unacceptable.nnThis hotel has a lot of potential, the location is excellent and with simple upkeep of the rooms it would be a very good hotel. It's a shame that it isn't.

Room is spacious, but the soundproofing insulation is horrible
