Seem to have a good selection. Staff was very friendly. Definitely a go to place for the odd electronics job where you need the parts now.

I have been coming to this place for over 15 years. I used to be able to find all of the parts and knowledge that I was looking for. the employees used to be very knowledgeable and happy to help in any way and would often make suggestions of different products they had in the store. Over my past few visits I have been very disappointed. I came in today to get a simple soldering job because my soldering iron is broken. I was asking them to solder two wires together and splice them for children's toy battery pack. I am done this several times in the past. today they could barely peel themselves away from whatever they were doing before I came in. the younger employee behind the counter told me he was no good at soldering and this is something they thought they were not able to do because nobody there could solder. instead he scribbled down Ron cell phone number and handed it to me...definitely not what I pictured Lafayette Electronics turning into. It's pretty disappointing. after he handed me a piece of paper with a phone number on it he continued to work on whatever he was working on. iron start wandering the aisles and found a butt splice connector that would accomplish the job. instead of recommending them to me he just threw business out the door. I have long enjoyed coming to this place to get items for work or for school, but the past four times that I've been here they have not had what I needed or I'm treated with service like I mentioned above. I really hate leaving bad reviews but I am so taken aback by this I felt it necessary to share.

I was pretty excited to learn a town as small as Lafayette had a small electronics store like this. I went a little over a month ago looking for some odd value capacitors to repair my LCD monitor. The staff was somewhat helpful- there were three employees in the store and they seemed to just be hanging out. Honestly, I felt a little like I interrupted them by walking in.nnThey didn't have the part I wanted in stock, which was not surprising or unexpected, it was an uncommon value. They suggested I try to order it online. I figured I'd ask if they could order it for me, and they said sure and then they took my name and number. I never heard from them again.nnIf you need a common component or cable, you could try them out, their stock isn't too bad and they seemed to know what they were talking about. But unless you are in a pinch, I'd pass on them and just go online or head over to Radio Shack. The atmosphere in the store was a bit unfriendly, and I have better places to spend my money than at a place that didn't seem to really care.

In a post radio shack world it's become very hard to find those odds and ends electronic parts that you need. The store is well stocked and the staff are knowledgeable. Definitely my first stop when I have need of parts, wish I'd have known about this place earlier!
