BAO's PASTRY

I was expecting a lot from all the post I read, but it wasn’t what I expected. ☹ufe0fnI think if the price point on most of the items were lower, then it would fit the quality of the items.nI got something covered with a glaze, and I scraped off the glaze because the quality was poor and it tasted weird... Not sure if it was the quality of the chocolate they used or not. The texture of the glaze was nothing like I have tasted before....Kind of tasted like sticky water down cheap chocolate and the consistency of Hersey syrup. I did try other things and they were ok but the prices were overpriced.nI have no problem dishing out money for good food but the quality and consistency has to be better.

Stopped in by chance to this cute.pastry shop. All artisan treats. You can tell the quality that goes into these pastries. They are a bit on the pricey side but remember it's the quality of the product. Check it out. Great place to stop for dessert after dinner.

this is a little gem off the main drag of downtown Valparaiso. Dynamite pastries, in small portion sizes. and if you want a great up of coffee, they serve americano (I usually am not a fan but have had 2 different people make it for me at Bao's and definitely not the watered down version I have gotten from Starbucks), espresso drinks. If you want a little taste of what they have, they also have a booth at the Chesterton Organic farm mkt in Chesterton on Wednesday afternoon where they have a sample of their baked goods. Highly recommended

As a person who loves pastries & has tried just about everything sweet downtown, this place is by far THE BEST. After trying several different pastries during different occasions, I can honestly say this place puts a lot of thought into each individual pastry. I believe they truly use fresh ingredients because I can taste it in the flavor. I have never bought a pastry & seen a dull fruit. I feel comfortable taking any pastry to a gathering. I highly recommend them if you truly want a delicious & quality pastry.

Amazing! They were able to make me a Strawberry Cheese Cake on a day they were technically closed! I so appreciate that, because they didn’t have to do it for me. So professional and the cheese cake was delicious! Thank you guys again. I will be back.
