Cello Girl Music Instruction

After many years of being a self taught musician and singer songwriter, I decided to learn to play the cello. I’ve been taken lessons from Lisa for a year now and I’m so grateful for her expertise, patience, beautiful caring heart and sense of humor. I can now read cello music and even improvise a bit! I highly recommend her as a music teacher on many instruments, including the cello, no matter what age you are! Thank you Lisa!

Lisa is an incredible person and an outstanding teacher. I played viola in high school but had not touched an instrument for over forty years. I began taking lessons with Lisa three years ago and with her expert guidance have made tremendous improvement. Lisa has extensive musical expertise, and is extremely patient. Lisa is a terrific teacher. I began cello from scratch after retiring and she had been a skilled and supportive instructor. Her goal is to have her students enjoy playing their chosen instrument. When I have gotten discouraged she has always found ways to get me past my lack of confidence and back enjoying the journey of learning. I have been playing cello with Lisa for a year and a half. I have been violin student of Lisa from almost 6 months. I am an adult beginner with absolutely no idea how to read music or hold violin before meeting Lisa. After taking lessons from her from past 6-7 months, I am now very happy with my choice. She is an amazing teacher, not only she is a keen observer about your progress and what mistakes you are doing, but also very patient throughout the process. She makes sure that you don't get into bad habits and develop on them. She works with your speed and is patient to go with your comfortable pace. If you are interested in songs which are not part of lessons, she will help you working through them as well. Lisa has my full recommendation.

My middle-school aged son has been studying cello with Lisa since 2017. In that time she has successfully coached him through two difficult auditions and two great recitals. She supports his musical growth at his pace, pushing him to grow but not pressuring him beyond his abilities. I also have taken a lesson with her on violin so I got a sense of her terrific ability to verbalize the crucial physical information one has to know to be a better musician (without developing repetitive use injuries!). I only wish I had more time to practice so I could take more lessons! Definitely recommend.
