DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!nWorkers were over worked, and likely under paid.nThe crew was fine, but the service and technique was absolutely terrible. Trust the bad reviews.nnDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They were over four hours late. They did not listen to instruction, nor load the truck appropriately for an out of state move. The person at the other end of the phone number was terrible, inconsiderate, patronizing, and rude.nnAgain, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I moved from Springfield to Salem and my family and I didn’t want to deal with lifting the couches and beds again and decided to have a moving company help out. I looked around and got quotes from many places and this place had the best price and the best reviews so I went with them. My move was scheduled for 9am. The movers called me about an hour prior and let me know they’d be arriving around 9:30. It was nice that they gave me a notice and didn’t just show up at my doorstep, I appreciated that. They showed up, were very friendly and helpful. They loaded everything up in less than an hour. They met me in Salem and unloaded everything in less than an hour as well. My only complaint with this company is the seemingly lack of communication. I had a few occasions where the staff would call me about my requested quote when I had already scheduled the move. It seemed like none of them knew what was going on amongst each other at least over the phone.

On 7/30 we awaited our movers who were scheduled for 12:00 to load out our home into a moving truck. We received a call around noon that the movers would be a couple hours late. This was to be expected as stated in their documents and policy. By 2:00 the movers had not yet arrived, and I decided to call the company to determine what was going on. I can’t remember who I spoke to, but the guy simply stated “they will be there”, and offered no real comforting words and simply seemed annoyed I was calling. The person I spoke to was rude and non-professional from a customer service standpoint.nnBy 4:00 the movers had not yet arrived. At this point we began looking for an alternative to which we had no luck and remained at the mercy of the company Moving Fellows.nn4:36 the movers arrived, sweaty, tired, and fatigued. This was a concern my wife voiced to the person on the phone several times.nnI began showing the movers where all the heavy items were and stated they needed to be in the truck first as per the trucking company’s request. I also explained to the movers how to use the deck bars which came with the truck to help make packing effective and efficient. They acknowledged they knew how to utilize the deck bars on the truck.nnLess than an hour into the move one of the movers asked me if they could bring in a third mover. I asked if they needed it, and if it would help. I was told “it will take less time”. They did not tell me there was an additional charge. I told them to go for it if it would help them out. The movers appeared extremely exhausted and were working very slowly. The third mover arrived shortly after this discussion, around 5:30.nLarge items began being loaded towards the end, with about 30% truck capacity remaining. By this time the movers appeared extremely fatigued and were very slow moving. I witnessed several near misses in the home. For example one mover tripped on an entry stair and almost fell. I also witnessed one mover fall inside the trailer as he was standing on a stool and overreaching to cram items high and far into the trailer. This began being concerning and I expressed this concern.nnTowards the end, it became apparent everything would not fit in the truck. You could see things becoming very sloppy but I assumed they were professionals and would rearrange the truck appropriately.nnWe paid for two movers who were fatigued and not prepared for the task at hand physically or mentally. This is why they needed a third person. We were originally quoted 198$ for the service and now we are being charged an additional $371.20. I do not believe it would have taken them as long as it did had they been well rested and on time. The movers finally finished after 9:00 PM. They had stayed they expected to be there until 10:00, and I was shocked to hear this. Since everything was boxed, staged and ready to load, this seemed like an excessive timeline.nWe offered repeatedly the use of our own blankets, straps/netting, shrink wrap and towels for packing, which they never used. They did not load the heavy item first, which we asked them to do many times. Many of our items were damaged and broken after it arrived to our destination.

I hired Moving Fellows to help me move across town. They showed up 40+ minutes late as they had to go get a larger truck and when they arrived they told me they were tired from the night before. Overall, the three movers (which I was upsold on after originally scheduling two) were pleasant and polite, but as they day went on, they became slower and slower and didn’t seem to take all the necessary precautions to prevent damage. Approximately 3.5-4 hours into the process the person loading/stacking the truck told me that all of my stuff wasn’t even going to fill the truck halfway. At that point, I believe they stopped packing the truck strategically, because when it came down to it, not all of my belongings fit. Several large items and many smaller items were left behind. I had packed refrigerated and frozen food I to my SUV and they asked me to take it out so that I could haul the “screens” (TVs/monitors) and then their truck was full and I had to tell them that I was not going to unpack my food and that it needed to go with us. It took 3 full-size SUVs and a full size utility trailer to bring the items that didn’t fit into the truck at a later time.nOnce we got to my new house, the crew was obviously fatigued. They hadn’t properly wrapped/protected a solid walnut piece of furniture and when sliding it to get it out of the truck, one side was scratched significantly. I noticed it right away before the item was all the way off the truck, and the lead person asked one of his crew mates why he didn’t wrap it right. They also put a gouge in my dining room table, dropped a file cabinet and damaged molding while doing so and put a hole in a wall. They also couldn’t leave fast enough and wanted to leave my washer in my garage rather than put it in the laundry room. I had to ask them three times to please bring it inside. The response was “don’t you have somebody that can help you?” They did end up bringing it inside after I told them that I didn’t and that is what I hired them for.nI called the company the next day to report the damage and was told to file a claim online, which I did. I submitted approximately 20 pictures along with documentation of the value of the furniture that was damaged. There is easily $2500 worth of damage, and the cost of the move was more than $1200, which would have been acceptable to me if they had been professional and efficient. They did not respond to my claim for several days and when they did, it was a laughable amount ($175) that will not even begin to cover fixing the damage/replacing items. I responded immediately to the email with the claim letting the company know that I didn’t accept that offer and would like to talk with them to work this issue out. I left four voicemails in addition to the email and didn’t get any response. Finally after two weeks, I called and was able to speak with someone, who was quite rude and interrupted me multiple times. Oddly enough, the next day I received an email from the owner stating that they are not willing to negotiate and that they $175 is all they are willing to pay me for the damage.nThis is the first negative review that I have ever written for any company/service I have received. I do not usually complain publicly, but am absolutely appalled and feel like I should warn others not to hire this company. They made a tough time for me, even tougher and are uncooperative and unwilling to accept responsibility for their unprofessional, low-quality work and the damage that resulted from it. I strongly urge you not to hire this company for your move.
