Watkins was a great place to work before the buy out by Schneider, seriously I never seen a place go down hill so fast. The review by Aaron unfortunately is correct, ask him how his service was before Schneider. The Indy terminal was gutted by Schneider pink slips and walk offs was so common and the new owners could careless, I was part of a crew that was sent there to fix warehouse problems and get the freight moving again, it was a nightmare. No joke even us drivers were loading our own trailers with help from the skeleton crew in the warehouse.nAaron's issue wasnt a isolated incident by no means at all. I had pallets of flooring I took for delivery, got to the stop and the flooring was heavily damaged and the kicker was this was the 3rd time on the same order. Talk about feeling like a fool standing there, three times he received damaged freight and the poor guy had lost the job because of this. I would shop around before choosing Schneider or Watkins to ship with. The pic is of the customers busted flooring that the office told me to take.nU see me pointing at the large roll of carpet the reason is all the small rolls had to go 6 stops before the big roll there was no way I could move it me and another guy tried but it was wedged in.
The nick name for them around our shop is the Wondering Shepard. If you need your freight in a timely manner I would highly recommend not using the Wondering Shepard. We used them for several years and have recently switched carriers due to them not answering the phone or returning calls. They have the common case of the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Steer clear if you need you freight within two weeks!!
Very small, no room to drop the trailers. Of course nobody at the office night time. Of course the lasy dispatch don't care, they do not give the code to go inside to take shower or buy something in the vendor machine.nI prefer the big Dalton terminal even it nasty dusty and nasty our trucks inside as outside. They don't care. The Office always watch you as a dog even the drivers are the backbone of the company.
Time after time they don’t deliver when they say. With no excuse why. They will call a day ahead to confirm that the next day is ok to deliver and we still won’t have it a week later and have to call to see where our materials are at! It is Almost 50% of the time! Sorry for the bad review but it is the truth!
Clean concrete ( small)parking and docks. Always difficult to get an empty trailer. Sometimes must move the trailers (drop hook few times! Not truckers job! Shame on them
