Aveda Fredric's Institute

I’ve been going to Aveda for about 8 years now. I’ve gotten some pretty good haircuts but your experience there is entirely dependent on what student you get. Experienced ones can be quick and professional (although sometime it still seems like they don’t really care) BUT the two time I’ve gotten bad student (both very new) the experiences have been horrible. It took me 2 and 1/2 hours to give me a trim, long layers, and some light face framing. It was definitely not worth it. I had been growing my hair out for three year and she botched a very simple haircut. I was the first person she cut at Aveda (which she didn’t mention till the end) her layers were horrible and looked like three straight lines, she didn’t know how to work with my hair and when she got to the face framing it looked like I was trying to grow out old bangs. Safe to say I balled my eyes out the whole way home. Can’t really fix it because I definitely don’t want it shorter. The teachers should have prevented/fixed this instead the framing was ignored. I have never gone there and not had a teacher check all parts of the haircut. I think they knew how bad it was and were trying to get me out before I noticed. 80% of experiences at aveada have been good but I will not be going there again because the risk of that bad of a hair cut is simply not worth it.

Sadly, I would not recommend this institute to anyone. They are terrible at communicating and do not provide accurate information. After asking questions I received different responses from numerous people, such as if my license would be transferable to other states since part of it would be completed online. The fact that it may not be transferable was not even brought to my attention until AFTER I began the program. I requested to withdrawal so I would avoid wasting more of my money at the institute and had to constantly email people in order to see if the they were proceeding with my case or not. I’m still in the process of doing this and have yet to hear back from multiple emails I sent. On top of all of this, their instructors are not professional and did not seem to have a great understanding of the information that they were “teaching.“ The classes consisted of sitting on a zoom call teaching ourselves the material, while the instructors or other students discussed their personal lives in the background, making it impossible to focus on the work we were supposed to be doing. There were also multiple instances where the instructors didn’t know the answers to exam questions or questions in general. Overall, I would highly discourage others from attending this school. It was severely unprofessional and communication was nearly impossible. It’s a lot of money for a lackluster education.

LOVED my experience here! I went through a bit of a hair disaster and Haven fixed my hair flawlessly!!! Would go back a million times!

Absolutely zero professionalism, lots of lazyness and no interest to teach it learn!
