We used Wade Odell Wade to move us from NJ to Florida. We got 3 estimates from different companies and they were all within $1000 of each other. We chose Wade Odell Wade because they came highly recommended by friends. The estimator came to our home, took inventory and gave us a price. We worked with Lauren over the phone-she was always responsive, caring and knowledgable. They gave us a date and time for pick up and were very punctual. When the movers arrived to take our furniture-they discovered that they couldn't get the large truck down our street and needed to shuttle it from a smaller truck. This should have been realized by the estimator and put into our original estimate - it cost us an additional $500 on moving day and we had no other options at that point. I would rather have it in the estimate and not needed it and received a lower bill at the end. This was the only mishap in our process. Everyone was extremely professional and polite. Our driver, Dave, was very thorough and checked everything on both ends of the move. Our furniture left NJ on Weds and arrived safely in Florida on Sunday! I would definitely recommend Wade Odell Wade.

Beware of lowball bidsnnWe recently moved from NJ to CT. One of the owners came to our home to give us a bid. The entire house was open to him and he took a inventory, including items in the closets and storage areas. He gave us a bid on the spot of about $6,000. I fully expected that there would be some contingencies which would raise the cost, so was ok with a reasonable increase. Purportedly, this man is a professional with many years experience in the business so I expected a fairly accurate estimate. When the move was completed, we were presented with a bill that was about $1,000 more than the estimate. Sorry, but if you're an experienced mover and have access to the entire house and its contents you shouldn't be 15% over your estimate. If you're moving, be very careful of this outfit.

When my sister moved out of state, we agreed she would ship her large 7-piece wall unit to my house, as she had no space in her new home. We contracted with WOW/United movers to deliver the furniture to my home in Alexandria, Virginia. This company was very responsive, answered all my questions, and it was easy to communicate with them; in addition all the contract paperwork was facilitated electronically, so it was very easy. Each piece of furniture was wrapped in quilted cloth, and all glass and wood shelves packed separately. I was very pleased with Bryan and Sid, who delivered the furniture. They were very professional and careful with the furniture, the floors and walls, answered all my questions, and positioned and adjusted the furniture placement until I was satisfied. One of the wood panels in one of the pieces was loose and Bryan was kind enough to apply wood glue and give me some pointers as to how to strengthen the piece and what I needed to do to finish adjusting and leveling the pieces, given the uneven lower floor and carpeting where they were placed. They were professional, respectful, and I was very happy with them.nThere was a delay in delivering the furniture, due to unforeseen circumstances. However, I was advised in a timely manner, and the company offered a discount to compensate for the delay. Despite the inconvenience of having to reschedule, their offer to compensate was much appreciated.

While the physical moves weren't bad, the administration behind the movers has been inadequate. The movers did break a headboard and lose a box of kitchen items which would have been tolerable if the company processed our insurance claim expeditiously. One month after the move there are still discrepancies in our billing which they seem unable to rectify/explain and, despite my repeated follow ups our insurance claim is not being processed efficiently. I would not be in a rush to hire them again and I could not recommend them to others.
