Curry chicken had 0 zero flavor. I don’t know how a Jamaican curry has no flavor. Tasted like cheap chicken wings boiled in chicken noodle soup. Random Bones in rice. Bones in cabbage oddly. Best thing about the meal was the beef patty app. Probably wouldn’t give em a go again. Island spice is way better

Seriously delicious! Not sure what another post was talking about, every dish I have ever had has been flavorful with options for heat. Ms. Ava will even customize the curry to your preference! The cabbage, and beans and rice are cooked and kept separately from the made to order main dishes and the portions will feed you for two meals at least! The jerk chicken is the BEST hands down and as soon as Ms.Ava bottles her homemade sauce, I am buying it by the case! Will definitely keep coming back! There are vegan options, desserts (try the lemon cake and ginger cookies!), homemade sorrel wine and daily specials. It's a small family restaurant with heart and you can taste it in the food.

Quaint little reasturant with sincerely true Caribbean cuisine! More then fairly priced, with excellent portions. Service was prompt, and our server took the time to teach us about the culture! Fellow Infantryman is the owner as well! Highly recommended for lunch.

I come down from Des Moines from time to time and I only eat here. I get excited when I find out I have to go to Leavenworth just because I will get a chance to eat at Ava’s. The owners are the nicest people in the world too. They will just talk to you and answer in any questions you have. The food is absolutely delicious.

Delicious Vegan food! Ava was super kind and helpful. Willing to customize an order to fit tastes and needs. Our first time going here was yesterday and we chose to dine in.nnThey have a Vegan section on the menu with 4 options to choose from. We split the Callaloo with Rice & Beans, Steamed Cabbage, topped with fried Plantains. It was exceptional. (I can't wait to try the Rasta Bowl next.) The food was ready quickly and steaming hot when brought to our table. There's a variety of traditional soft-drinks and yummy looking teas too. We tried the Ginger Beer and Cream Soda. Will definitely be back again soon!
