My husband and I booked McLain's Market for our wedding reception and boy did they deliver! From the very beginning of the planning process, Kat was so responsive and helpful! We ordered a simple 1 tier cake and 12 dozen cupcakes, vanilla, chocolate, and my favorite - red velvet! And IT WAS SO GOOD! All of my guests were obsessed with the cake and cupcakes that we barely had any leftovers! Luckily, my mom was quick to snag some cupcakes and stow them away so Shawn and I could take them home with us!

The plain and simple used to be made with sliced English muffin bread and toasted to perfection. The English muffin bread was sweet and firm. Today it was made with an oversized wheat bread that was floppy. The floppy semi-toasted wheat bread with whole grain mouth feel is very different than the English muffin and has totally changed what made this sandwich great. The whole wheat taste dominates this sandwich. Bring back balance to the breakfast sandwich. Bring back the English muffin bread!nnEdit: the new sandwich could be called the Grain and Simple

I ordered twice from this place — online and pick up later. Their cake and patries were lovely. The cake (Chocolate Lovers) was well decorated, soft and flavorful, although the buttercream was too sweet for my taste. The other order was a sausage and bacon quiche and assorted pastries (seemed to contain one of each pastry on the menu) and they were delicious as well and just sweet enough!

Everything at McLain’s is fresh and delicious. All their baked goods are awesome, and I have dreams about their falafel wrap.
