We got there around 2 PM, as an apple pie was coming out of the oven. Gorgeous crust, the size of a circus tent. Had an eclair and a pumpkin scone, too, as hiking snacks: both yummy. A friendly scene, too.
First time visiting. Has that family atmosphere. Everything is fresh baked from pastries to meat pies.
We have been ordering my birthday cakes from Phyllis’s for 10 + years now. As a former employee of DKH I was introduced to one of Phyllis’s delicious cakes and have been ordering it once a year for my birthday. It is a pistachio cake - white cake with pistachio cream frosting.nI only gave three stars because even though Phyllis writes down your order there have been times, latest was today’s 7/13/2020 cake, when instead of the white cake she makes it with pistachio with nuts cake. This combo also is good but for the price of her cakes I want what I ordered. Sorry Phyllis but you goofed again this year!
Enjoyed the apple pie and the chocolate cream pie at our Thanksgiving meal.
