I paid over $50 for a Sweet Sixteen Birthday cake that was supposed to have raspberries in it. What I received was a plain cake with zero decor on the cake, not even decorative borders on the cake edges, zero icing flowers, nothing but 'Happy Sweet Sixteen' and frosting on the cake - I kid you not! This cake is so plain it is a complete embarrassment for me ti give it to my daughters on their special day. I am mortified and now having to leave work early to decorate the cake myself, not to mention I I have to pay for decorative frosting. I had asked the girl who wrote down my order to sub strawberries with raspberries because strawberries go bad so quickly, but instead Take the Cake just gave me strawberries. I don't know who should feel more embarrassed: me because I paid $50 for this cake or Take the Cake because they charged $50+ for this cake. Seriously? Not even decorative borders?

I ordered cheesecakes for my wedding and Gina was absolutely fantastic to work with. Bonus - the cheesecakes were delicious! I can't stop thinking about how good it was, possibly best cheesecake I've ever had. Gina was flexible and worked with me to make my idea work within the food safety guidelines in place for COVID. The pies were pre-sliced and put in individual boxes and topped with a variety of tasty toppings. Did I mention how tasty?! And Gina even accommodated an extra chocolate cake for my Grandma's birthday that I added at the last minute. I'm so glad Take the Cake was recommended to me, and can't wait for an opportunity to go back!

I ordered a 9” strawberry shortcake, shockingly more than half the cake had no strawberries. I was so embarrassed that my guest asked me again what kind of it was it. The moisture was there but the cakes were thin with a huge amount of filling with little to no strawberries. Huge disappointment.

For my 21st birthday that is coming up my dad asked them to make a cake I’ve been getting since I was a kid. Apparently the cake has changed to seasonal only. Everyone in the store was on board to make the cake, but they had to confirm it was okay with the owner. The owner said no. That is terrible customer service and I will no longer be promoting this unhelpful establishment.

Wandered in here Oct. 25th at about 5:30pm. The young woman working was so beautiful I almost forgot why I was there. After purchasing 2 very expensive cakes, I made my way to the home of the person who had requested those cakes. The cake was so delicious I almost forgot about the beautiful, young woman that sold me the cake. I then decided it was good that I didn't live in CT because I would keep visiting the beautiful, young woman who sells me cake... until I had a heart attack from eating the cake that made me forget the beautiful young woman. I VERY highly recommend this place. You'll fall in love with the pretty girl that sells you cake, then you'll fall in love with the cake, then you'll try to take the pretty girl to Tahiti... then you'll come back for more cake. It's a delicious death sentence, anyway you look at it. Just do it. You know you want to!
