Dave is an amazing instructor! My lessons were tailored to my needs and goals with my guitar. He quickly determined what my skill level was and adjusted my lessons accordingly. He always had great tips and examples to help me improve my technique, as well as providing positive and encouraging feedback! Dave is a pretty cool guy in general to take lessons from; he knows what he's talking about and he provides a comfortable and inviting atmosphere during lessons.

I have taken online lessons with Dave for the past 6 months. I find him to be very prepared, and attentive to my needs as a student.nnAs a physician I've been increasingly intrigued at his attention to detail in regards to my technique. Having insight into human physiology and how it interacts with your instrument is really invaluable, and hopefully keeps my playing for another 40 years.nnYoutube is an option for a lot of people to learn, but it really can't compare to a very good teacher. Our 11 yr old son thinks Dave is it for teaching guitar! Makes it fun to learn! When we told our son he was going to miss a guitar lesson, first time ever we heard our son express being disappointed to miss a lesson.

I first discovered Dave's playing through youtube watching funky fingerstyler Adam Rafferty. Dave played a cover of his original Jill's Song.nnI found Guitarborist on facebook, and asked about doing skype guitar lessons (technically google hangouts), it is 2016 after all.nnThe only limit I've noticed to what Dave can teach is the restrictions bandwidth places on our lessons. It's impossible to jam over lagging internet. He has always been receptive to songs I want to learn, and also intuitive at observing obstacles that prevent me from sounding my best. I'm a much better player for my association with Guitarborist. Highly reccomended!
