Homeschooling family here loving the enthusiasm and joy that we receive from Mike's instruction. He is generous, encouraging and kind with his students: our three kids all look forward to their lessons. He's never been anything but flexible and accommodating, working with our schedule and teaching during daytime hours--a great plus for homeschooling. Additionally, he offers instruction in drum, piano, guitar, bass, etc, so I don't have to track down other teachers when someone decides he wants to try out drum! He has a lot to offer, at a very fair price, and he's located centrally, too. We're glad we found him.
Mike at Newington Music is the best music teacher my son has had. He is patient and one of the nicest men you will ever meet. He is extremely knowledgeable in all genres of music from classic rock to classical. My son has been taking percussion lessons from Newington Music for 2 years. He continues to learn and improve plus he really enjoys not only playing music but talking to Mike about music.
I have been taking drum, piano and bass lessons from Mike for the last 6 months and have found him to been exceptionally patient and flexible and overall a great teacher. He makes everything easy to understand and breaks everything down as you need it. I have also found Mike to be flexible in the event of a scheduling conflict, with the courtesy of notice, of course.
My son has been taking piano and drum lessons from Mike for the past 3 years. Mike is a kind and patient teacher. He is wonderful at keeping my son interested in music. He takes personal interest in my son's taste in music and tries to teach him songs that he enjoys. We would highly recommend Mike for all instrumental lessons.
Newington Music is a wonderful place to perfect your craft in music. Mike takes your abilities and enhances them to a level that is unbelievable. He is reliable and hard working. My son would not be the type of percussionist he is today without Mike’s tutelage. Thank you Newington Music for making my son’s dreams come true!
