Giuseppina's Italian Bakery

We usually are not complainers, but we feel the need to speak up about the wedding cake we recently ordered from Giuseppina’s Italian Bakery in South Windsor. When we placed our order, we specifically requested a lemon cake with raspberry preserve and raspberry mousse filling. What we got on our wedding day was a plain two layer vanilla cake with one very thin layer of raspberry preserve and mousse mixed in the middle. This was unacceptable because the filling is the best part of the cake and there was barely any! Usually with a wedding cake, one would expect at least four layers of cake with a thick layer of mousse between each layer; this was not the case with our wedding cake. This disappointed us because we did not get what we ordered. After spending a rather large amount of money on a cake, it should at least have been the correct flavor. Also, we dropped off silk flowers to decorate cake. They only used about half of the flowers we had provided, leaving the cake very plain looking. Overall, the cake looked like it was thrown together quickly and it was not the quality expected for a couples wedding, which is a once in a lifetime event. If you are thinking of ordering a wedding cake from this bakery, do not expect that it will look and taste like anything out of the ordinary.nnIn addition, the tray of Italian cookies were a huge let down to my guests. I reached out to Giuseppina's Italian Bakery for a custom cupcake order for my baby shower and I cannot express just how incredibly amazed I was with them. Not only were the cupcakes absolutely beautiful and exactly what I asked for. They were such a hit at the shower! Time and time again, I was asked where I had ordered them from; they received so many compliments! I have custom ordered many cakes/cupcakes from numerous bakeries but Giuseppina's bakery went above and beyond. I am very particular and not once did I feel like what I was asking for was too much or that what I was envisioning was unattainable. From the ease of communication to the beautiful presentation of the cupcakes, it was all flawless. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. Thank you Giuseppnia's Bakery for making my shower that much more special. Consider me a forever customer!

I loved this bakery when it opened and still do...at least for the baked products anyways. No doubt that their products are amazing...BUT the owner’s husband (although nice and friendly) does not wear a mask when assisting you with your order at the front counter. Family members of mine have gone on separate occasions and witnessed this. Sir, you are dealing with food that you serve to others. I understand this is your business and I don’t need to go to your bakery but you would think if we come into your establishment with our required face masks on you would have the courtesy to put one on as well when working with our food. Otherwise why even have the plastic coverings up at the front counter? So you can be protected from this virus and not us? Please work on this! You all are too good to not come visit ud83dude14.

GREAT PRICES, BETTER PASTRIESnnI used to get pastries from panera bread, but I was never satisfied with the price.nnWhen I started going to Giussepina's I was amazed to find that the pastries were much better, AND THE PRICES WERE TOO!nnThe service is always kind and courteous, and the lines are shorter than Panera Bread too (a shame!).nnIf you like GREAT FOOD and GREAT PRICES, GO TO GIUSSEPINA'S FOR YOUR PASTRIES (and other baked goods too!).nnThe service has also been great during the pandemic. You can be sure everything is safe, and you can still get your sweet baked fix.

Everything that they offer is awesome. They make yummy eggless cakes and best part is you can order just 1 day in advance. They always make it fresh on the day of pick up.
