Absolutely amazingly maintained. Legible stones going back to 1648 are viewable and in good condition. Many interesting styles and carvers mixing from the common eastern CT crowd like Josiah Manning, Gershom Bartlett and others mixing with Carvers of the western CT region. Stones of Brownstown, Schist, Marble and Slate are viable.

Amazing graveyard with many very old graves back to the 1500s.

As people have said, this is one of the most unique things to do in Hartford. I would definitely make a quick stop here even if you're staying for a short time. Doesn't take too long to cover everything in the grounds and you certainly learn quite a bit!

I give the Ancient Burial Ground located at 60 Gold St, Hartford, CT 06103 FIVE STARS. This place is filled with so many old graves. The oldest gravestone is believed to be of Timothy Stanley, who died in 1648. Its so disappointing to know how it was approved to sell land and all for commercial buildings. 5ufe0f⃣⭐ ud83dudc7b⚰

One of the coolest things to check out in Hartford. Tons of history on a small plot of land. What makes it more interesting is the large build towering over it.
