After turning 72 in mid 2019, I felt it time to plan for a final family resting place. We were seeking a small to medium size nondenominational cemetery in the Fairfield County area that was professionally managed, had a rural feeling, was well cared for and financially sound. My spouse wanted a casket burial but not in the ground. I wanted cremation but not a ground interment. We also did not want to spend eternity in a large community mausoleum or columbarium type structure. A small family mausoleum combining a casket crypt with cremation niches seemed to best fit our requirements. Having lived in Westport for many years and enjoying the changing seasonal beauty of Willowbrook Cemetery, (willowbrookcemetery.com) we approached Danny Amoruccio, Willowbrook’s cemetery manager who is also a licensed funeral director.nDanny listened carefully to our desires and explained the various burial options offered by Willowbrook, including private family mausoleum plots. We purchased a twelve grave “estate” plot on a hill overlooking much of the historic cemetery on which to build our family mausoleum / columbarium. Building a private structure also allows us to place the cremated remains of our family pets within the niche area which many cemeteries do not allow.nDanny then introduced us to Ned Steinmetz of Brown’s Monument Works in Monroe, CT (http://Brown’ssmonumentworks.com). We had general ideas as to the design of the structure we wanted and Ned worked with us on several designs, one of which would be fabricated by Rock of Ages in Vermont. Ned’s firm takes responsibility for the entire project from design, to fabrication oversight and placement in the cemetery.nThe resulting structure is beautifully crafted and set on the plot which also has room for six additional ground burials. Both gentlemen have been wonderful to work with which is important given that we now live 400 miles away from Westport. Whether you are considering a ground burial with headstone or other marker, purchasing space(s) in a community mausoleum or a private mausoleum burial options, I highly recommend that you consider Willowbrook Cemetery and Brown’s Monument Works.nRon CarknernWilliamsburg, VirginianNovember 2020

I went to a graveside service recently and was extremely surprised how beautiful this cemetery was. Not to mention their tastefully done web site that provided obituaries and the location of the service within the cemetery.nnI felt it was necessary to provide positive feedback to those responsible for the first class service they provided Gail's family and friends. Far too often, people today just complain!nnLovely cemetery, Willowbrook!

Our family owns a gorgeous plot at Willowbrook Cemetary that reflects 3 generations of Westporters. The grounds are well maintained and customer service is exceptional.nnThere's no other place I'd rather be than this beautiful cemetery!

My mother in law died and we weren't prepared for it. One task at hand was to secure a cemetery for where she will lay to rest.nnMy husband and his father wanted a place that was quaint, well kept, respectful and fiscally stable.nnI called several cemeteries and I felt most comfortable with Willowbrook. It's run by a funeral director who gave us great advice and helped us through the process. The Cemetery was also available 7 days a week to speak to management.nnOur family is made up of various religious beliefs, from Buddhist, Judaism to Christianity. This cemeteries welcomes all faiths with open arms.nnThe pricing was slightly more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Perhaps cutting corners on which casket may be appropriate, but the final resting place is the most important.nnIf you want peace of mind, choose Willowbrook. (All of these reviews, can't be wrong!!!)

My wife and I finally had 'the talk' and decided it as time to pre-plan for our demise.nnThere are several cemeteries to choose from, but had no idea which one to use. We started watching the obituaries and noticed many people chose Willowbrook.nnWe contacted the office and made an appointment with the director. Daniel was very kind and helpful and took the time to explain the different options.nnWe are of a mixed religion marriage and felt comfortable selecting an all-faiths cemetery where our neighbors and friends have gone before us. It only seems right to join them, but not too soon!nnThe grounds are well kept there, their perpetual fund is healthy which means that my grave will be mowed 200 years from now. I didn't realize how important it is to ask about their perpetual care!nnTheir prices were a bit more expensive, like others mentioned, but like others: you get what you pay for. And quite honestly, my wife and I deserve a great send off.nnIn closing, if you are confused and uncertain what cemetery to use, let me help you out: Willowbrook Cemetery is the perfect place for your final place of rest. Trust us, we researched it all!
