Budget Truck Rental

LONG STORY SHORT: Moving truck was super shakey at certain speeds, had bald bulging/warped front tires, interior had trash and dirt all over, rep gave bad service. Ended up cancelling rental because they had no other trucks. Would not recommend. LONG VERSION: I had reserved a 26 foot moving truck for pick up. The representative did not do an actual walk-around on the vehicle with me but he handed me a sheet already indicating the various dents dings and scratches. After he handed me the keys I went outside to take photos and video of the truck. Upon inspection the truck seemed to be in ok condition at best. There was an odd smoke odor in the cab (possibly cigarettes?), trash on the floorboard, bezel around radio not properly secured, dust/dirt all over, and dirty hand prints on the headliner, dash board, radio screen and pretty much wherever you look. I probably should have just declined the rental at this point but I decided I am ok with cosmetic issues and a funky smell. The main purpose is just to move my family from here to another state. Once I got the truck on the highway it began intermittently shaking (mostly between 40-55 mph). Ive driven vehicles like this before and never had this problem but decided to get it onto a smoother road to see if maybe it was just the bumpy road; it was not, the intermittent shaking continued even on areas of south coors which have been recently paved. I then got out to inspect the truck again before driving further and saw that both the front tires were bald and warped and the back tires had quarter sized chunks torn out of the tread. At this point I decided to drive back to swap the truck for something I could feel comfortable driving 600 miles in. They had no replacement trucks and the rep tried to insult my intelligence and insinuate I am only being picky, while insisting the truck was fine and the tires are not bald. Ive attached pictures of one of bulging bald tires and have video footage of other issues mentioned. On a positive note, this bad experience turned out to be a blessing in diguise because we found another truck from a competitor for $100 cheaper plus it has an electric loading platform! Their insurance on the truck itself is also a fraction of the cost. Definitely do your shopping and then shop again the day of your rental. Definitely do not rent a truck from Budget Truck Rental. At least not this location.

Got either the next to largest truck or the one a little smaller..& it’s a wow..way better truck than any U-Haul I’ve ever seen & used...easy quick checkout...It makes no sense this isn’t a 5* or at least 4.8* location

Prepaid and went to pick it up. Staff was nice enough, but then "we don't do prepays". Thought I made a mistake, so I froze the card I paid with online and paid with a separate card in person. Turns out Budget just flat out lied and double charged us, even said "you're getting a big discount". I'm getting really sick of scam companies. Go somewhere else.

They were ready with a nice new truck for our one way trip to south Florida. Knowledgeable and polite staff.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Two weeks ago rented a truck from here for my son, hitch broke had to stay in a hotel because Budget couldn’t make it out till the next day. Zero compensation. Rented a second truck (good prices), truck was not at the location and the idiot behind the counter couldn’t help us. Called Budget, by the time they answered. We had already spoke to a Uhal representative and drove to the Uhal location to pick up the truck. Uhal may cost you a little extra but worth the service. RENT UHAL!
