It's a nice music store that offers lessons to replacement parts. It does not have a whole selection of instruments however. From walking in you will see drumsets and guitars, but other than that it's all parts for wind instruments. I also currently take lessons, and I have definitely seen an improvement in my drum playing, and I could not recommend a better place for lessons. The teachers are also amazing, they are extremely professional and know how to teach anyone from just starting out to someone in a band. It's a great place for lessons and replacement parts.

I had a trumpet cleaned through Johnstonbaugh's recently. They didn't do it on-site - they had to send it to another location, which wasn't an issue. It came back in the condition I expected for an older 1950s trumpet. Staff were friendly and courteous. Note that this particular location is very small which means you might not find the variety in selection you might be looking for, so best to call ahead to see if they have what you need.

Don’t rent here. Their rental credit policy is the worst. Other local stores offer to credit you, what you paid in rental fees toward the price they are selling their instruments for in the store. Johnstonbaugh’s gives you credit toward the manufacturer’s list price of a new instrument. For one instrument it was cheaper for me to go to a chain and buy it outright than to use my 3 years of rental credits. Don’t be taken advantage of like I was. Rent somewhere else - most of the stores have delivery service to the local schools so don’t let distance be a factor.
