If you want quality service, knowledgeable staff and to be treated like a decent human being do NOT go here. Every single time I spoke with someone here I was talked down to. Correct me if I am wrong, but I visit a fireplace store not because I am an expert on fireplaces, but because the employees are supposed to be. Not only that, but after waiting 9 weeks for gas logs to come in, they don’t even stay on for 5 minutes before shutting off. (The installers spent a good period of time smoking in my driveway when they arrived.) When I called and spoke with John, he said “Hm, that’s not supposed to happen. Call the service department.” No apology, no help. I called service, no answer. Left a message, no return call. For $4000, I expect better service, or at the bare minimum, a working product. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.
It was a bit strange to have workers walk away and do something else after I mentioned that I was there for a future purchase. It was stranger to overhear them say I wasn't buying and then ignore me when I said thanks for their time. It's safe to say that I won't purchase a fireplace there anymore.
Excellent sales staff at the McKnight store, particularly John. The problem is that the service department is seriously lacking in customer service. The service guys themselves are great, but the people who answer the phones and schedule the appointments never answer the phones, don't return phone calls, and often times wind up providing their staff with incorrect information regarding parts needed. They are lucky that they are the only certified Heat n Glo repair people in this area. They could use some competition.
Terrible experience. Don't recommend.nThe service people lie about how long it will take to get your product in and installed. Only one installer for all the stores in Pittsburgh so he is backed up and takes weeks to get an appointment. Scheduler for installer is poor at returning phone calls. Decided to install fireplace door ourselves, but instructions are unclear. Beyond frustrated with this product and company.
The staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Great selection of products. If they don't have it they will get it for you. Best grill Ive ever purchased, use it year round.
