1905 Vera Bakery is a hidden gem & a must for all Pittsburgh foodies and the prices are amazing! You think you've had a good bagel until you've tried simit---imagine if a sesame bagel and a soft pretzel had a baby. NOMZ. Their classic Turkish pastries like baklava pack flavor and texture, and delicious giant cookies and donuts will satisfy the less adventurous palettes. Go there NOW!
The owner is really nice and always helpful. I tried their birtday cake. It is super delicious but not heavy at all. Also I tried staffed fillo dough. My favorite is with patetos, they have with cheese and ground beef as well. My husband loved the ground beef one.
The cookies are huge and only $2! The molasses cookie was amazing. The owner was very pleasant and answered all of my questions... explaining how things were made, ingredients, etc. There are a couple tables if you want to eat inside. Very clean and updated decor. We will definitely go back!
This place is amazing and we are lucky to have them in the neighborhood! Super nice Turkish family baking impressively high quality desserts.
Great local business. Everything behind the glass looked so tasty. I ended up going with a cranberry walnut oatmeal cookie and some kind of pastry meat pie. The young man working the counter almost talked me into an éclair as well, but I held my ground - he's a very convincing salesman!
