Shari's Cafe and Pies

The famous pie chain was a surprise. Stephen and I each ordered the triple combo meals. I got the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich, creamy tomato soup (soup of the day), and chocolate cream pecan pie. Stephen's order was 1/2 toasted cheese sandwich, creamy tomato soup, and peanut butter cream pie. The chicken salad with the added cranberries gave a sweet and savory taste. The toasted cheese had the perfect melt and a slight crunch to dunk in soup without turning to mush. The pies were sweet, creamy, with the individual flavors that didn't disappoint complementing each meal.

Called in to have my order taken by Melissa, As she was taking my order she kept interrupting me by speaking to other people in the background, and people who were picking up orders, instead of putting me on hold, I don’t even know if she got my order right, because she confirmed nothing, then apparently she thought I was done speaking and hung up the phone on me without saying goodbye, bye, see you soon or anything, I was absolutely in shock and I called back to cancel my order... She definitely needs to work on customer service skills.

Shari’s was super-busy this day (12/26/19), but the wait staff was awesome! The managers left something to be desired. When I asked for a specific creamer, the manager remarked that what I had was all that I got, without an apology for being out of that specific creamer. Also, managers didn’t seem to be very helpful to the waitstaff or the kitchen crew, who were working their tails off.

The only thing that slightly redeemed this was their shake, and the waitress who did her best to help us. But for one they have on their online menu a prime rib stroganoff, I got told that they no longer sold that. Which that in its self warrants the question. Why is it still on the online menu, if it's not getting sold any longer? The waitress told us that it was a corporate issue, and that they couldn't do anything as the employee's about it, understandable on the last part, but you would expect the corporate to delete it off the menu then. The broccoli was cold, and the gravy was burnt, their mango tea only had a few sips of actual flavor before it pretty much became regular tea.
