Empire Moving and Storage Inc.

From the initial call to the crews picking up and dropping off my things I was super impressed at the professionalism and the thoroughness of my experience with this company. It may seem crazy but I'm a journalist and I never even thought to look this company up online before committing to them. Reviews can be judgmental and sometimes exaggerated, but I was comfortable in seeing that they were Accredited members of the BBB with an A rating. I wasn't sure that this move was even gonna happen for over a month but once I knew I called back and scheduled. My representative was detailed and seemingly more caring that any company I have dealt with in the past. They provided me with fee interim storage and we agreed on a price for total 70 days storage. Before leaving for my flight I decided to bring another portioned payment into their office and was welcomed into their facility where my items were being stored. I was very impressed at the cleanliness of the facility and how my things were tagged with my information and organized. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to move. Daniel and his team were outstanding.nFrom the initial explanation of how the day was going to go to making the necessary adjustments as the truck was loaded.nAny items that had been properly packed were accommodated for and wrapped as necessary.nThe entire staff was approachable and was careful with our belongings. We were able to meet the driver and understand his timeline as well. On a whole a an exceptional experience for a move half way across the country.nThank you to everyone.

They were not a scam, like other reviewers claim and they didn't break anything but it did take them two months and they tried to get some extra charges along the way. My booking was done with Dave in Denver and he talked up the services a lot more than what they were able to deliver. Once I paid, he never picked up the phone again. They called me really late - 24 hrs prior to pick up to inform me of the pick up. It did not make for a smooth stress-free first stretch of the move but Jose, from Valley movers (subcontractor), came to move my stuff from Tacoma and was very charming. He was nice but I got an extra charge for having a set of stairs in my house.

Warning: stay away from this company! It saddens me to write this review because I have to be reminded of the beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork that I will never see again thanks to Empire Moving and Storage. I used them for my move from Denver to Chicago. Aside from losing and damaging several of my possessions (3 pieces of artwork and 2 pieces of furniture lost.. or stolen... my entire patio set completely scraped up and broken) they were MIA for a month and a half with all of my things. They picked everything up a day late, so in addition to waiting around all day for nothing I had to miss an extra day of work. Upon arrival they tried to add on almost 400 dollars worth of additional costs that were not in the quote that I had agreed to. After the pick up, I couldn't get ahold of anybody through phone or email for an entire month and a half. Finally they called and said they would be dropping off my things with very short notice.. I had to call off work last minute once again. They also tried to insist on cash for the final payment which I thought was very strange.. The claims process that I had to go through for my missing and damaged belongings was very drawn out. It took several months and at the end of it all they offered me THIRTY SIX DOLLARS. I was in shock. Please save yourself the trouble and do not take a risk on using these crooks.

I have moved with several different companies and these guys are great! They handle pianos and antiques very very well. I'm always nervous when I'm facing a move but luckily I chose Empire and my belongings were cared for and arrived perfect. Great group of gentleman.
