Monkton Guitars is the go-to guitar shop in Broomfield. It's a small, comfortable store with lots of eye candy. Dave, the owner, is a knowledgeable, laid back resource. The selection of guitars and equipment is very good and Dave offers solid information.nThe shop has new and used equipment and well priced. He has a few jems in the vintage area and he is constantly sourcing new/used gear.nThey offer reasonably priced lessons for a variety of skill levels. The shop has comfortable rooms for lessons and to really check out your potential new purchase.nThis is a great shop.

I bought a ukulele from them and I will be back. I love that they are locally owned and that the owner is incredibly knowledgable. Their products are quality and diverse for everyone from affordable beginners to precious collectors.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. They did a great job at setting up my guitar, replacing parts and giving me some tips. The fact that they charge really reasonable prices is great too!

Monkton Guitars recently did a bit of work on a couple of my guitars. Their tech did an excellent job for a great price, and the owner was super knowledgeable and friendly. I have visited several guitar shops in Broomfield/Denver over the years and think I have a new favorite. Thanks Dave! I'll definitely be back.

What an awesome guitar shop! I’d been following Monkton Guitars since the days when it was just a website, so when I learned that it was now a physical shop, I was super excited to see the stock in person. Monkton’s website had always had a great selection of used and vintage player guitars at player prices, which would get me drooling, but I need to play a guitar before I decide if it’s coming home with me.nnAnyway, from the unassuming exterior in Bloomfield, I would have never expected what an amazing selection of instruments they have. The owner took us on a tour of the shop, and I was like a kid in a candy shop. I especially dug the vintage PRS that they had in stock, but they also had a bunch of vintage and used Fenders, Gretsch, and Gibsons. The prices were all reasonable. They also had a nice selection of affordable PRS SE, Epiphones, etc. Oh, and pretty solid collection of used and vintage basses. And don’t even get me started on the amps - vintage and boutique amps spilling out of everywhere. Basically, a great selection. Lots of cool stuff.nnMy one disappointment was that, while they have an acoustic room, they did not have a great selection of vintage acoustics. They did have a nice selection of a variety of new/used acoustics, but nothing that really got my vintage itch going. However, in light of the shop’s clear focus on electric instruments, and the fact that most normal people would love the selection in the acoustic room (I’ve got a problem; just ask my wife), I think this really isn’t a huge negative. Also, there are a bunch of great shops in the area that have vintage acoustics, but, until now, we really didn’t have an amazing vintage electric shop. So, yeah, while I was a bit disappointed, this really isn’t a song against them.nnTo sum up - this is an amazing guitar shop; I could easily have spent hours there, drooling over their amazing stock, and talking guitars with the owner, who was super nice and generous with his time (and not pushy or condescending like you sometimes encounter at shops). The dude clearly knows and loves guitars, and made some great recommendations on guitars I should try, based on what I’d told him I’d liked. I can’t wait to go back and spend some more time there - if you go, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to peruse the stock! I made the mistake of not allotting enough time on my first visit; that is a mistake I will not be making again.
