Had our mission sofa reupholstered and recushioned. Shelley was very patient as we looked through tons of fabric samples. Very happy with our better than new sofa. Cost was on par with other businesses in the area and ended being less money than if we bought a new, quality piece vs if we bought a low end sofa that wouldn't last. Very satisfied.

We bought a newer used motorhome only problem was peeling fabric on furniture. Went shopping for new stuff. Only problem with that is how is it going to fit right in here. Decided to get a quote from Design Craft Upholstery. While in their shop got our first lesson while we were there. “Ultra leather “ is not real leather folks. Thanks Shelley for that education. Allen came out and gave us a quote and it came out about the same as buying new, but we knew we were getting real leather and the furniture fit would be the same. They’re estimated time was spot on and the craftsmanship is beautifully done. We are extremely happy with the end result and have more work for you guys after we take her out and enjoy your hard work. Very grateful.

I went back and forth on doing this, but I am going forward with it because I feel people should know. I wish I had something good to report. I had Design Craft repair the foot board on a leather-bound recliner. They seemed to do a decent job, although they charged me top dollar, but I was happy to pay it to have my furniture fixed. I had them back a few months later to consult if they could help when the mechanism on that same recliner went wonky. They said there would be a charge, but didn't tell me how much. Since I had done business with them before I thought they would be fair. They spent all of 10 minutes at my house (and I live very close to their office so didn't have to drive far) to tell me they couldn't help me. That will be $100 please. OK, I should have asked how much before they came, so my bad, I paid it. A few months later noticed that part of the leather on the foot board area (about 6 months after the original repair) was coming undone and the board was showing. I took pictures and sent to them to ask if they could help since it was their repair job. The owner, Allan, came back and said there was nothing they could do. When I pressed further to ask how it could have come apart like that, he claimed it was faulty stitching and I asked if he had any suggestions for repair. No answer. I had also noticed in the interim months one of the staples was placed too high and you can see it from the front. I advised them of that and again, no comment. I waited a few weeks to see if they could offer any suggestions or even a referral. Nothing. My husband and I finally ended up fixing it with an industrial stapler we happened to have. I would not ever do business with this company again and am writing this as a warning to others. In addition the owner who came to see me was just grumpy and always seemed to have the attitude like I was 1) bothering him and 2) a stupid woman who didn't get it. There are plenty of upholstery places around, so I suggest you find another one. Time for Allan to retire, I think.

Requested a quote by email and got a quick response with a price much lower than another upholsterer I had contacted. When I went to the business and spoke with Al he was friendly, professional and made some helpful suggestions on the work I wanted. All good, no issues; I'd go back to this business.
