I bought a Fender guitar here and straight out of the box the bridge was separated from the body. I returned it for a new one. This one had a strong break within 2-3 weeks. I brought it in to get a string change, and they implied that a string change would be free if I bought the strings there, but they charged me 20 bucks for labor cost, when i got home I realized that the saddle had come loose in its slot and had tilted while the guy worked on it. I had to move a few days later and couldn't bring it back in. I would not recommend this guitar center. They seem to not really know what they're doing.

Ron helped me with my Ibanez Acoustic Guitar and getting it set up. Very honest with me ... He did not charge as it didn't require his service after quick examination. Ended up getting a music stand, tuner, string winder as well. They only have digital metronomes, which is why I'm giving only 4 stars (annoying beep). I prefer the tactile click of a mechanical metronome, so ordered one online!

There's really no where else to go if you want to physically view and touch an instrument before buying it. I don't say that with positive or negative connotations, it just is what it is. The employees are forced to try and upsell like any other business, but when you're most likely going to drop a couple hundred dollars easily it's not welcomed. I also appreciate the employee's honest advice about the lack of sound options on the electric piano I purchased, however, I would have saved time not having to return it if they had been honest about the sound quality at high levels (which no one wants to test out in the store and piss everyone off). Still, I don't purchase instruments anywhere else.

I’m happy they are there when I need a last minute item that can’t wait for shipping. However, no one knows anything about their products. I never see the same employees from one day to the next which makes me concerned management. Also, I was told one thing about a return policy with the extended warranty by an employee and another thing by a manager. The manager told me I was crazy for thinking what their employee straight up told me. Don’t buy any of Guitar Center’s extended warranties. It’s a rip off and will fight you tooth and nail to not hold up their end of the warranty. Go directly through the manufacture’s warranty. Guitar Center is like the Walmart of sound gear, it’s best you do your own research on a product BEFORE going in. If you know what you’re doing on your own and know which product to get for what you need, at least Guitar Center is there.

Helpful staff all around. I'm a beginner and Sam helped me pick out some accessories and a book of songs to help me along.nnThe store features a large entry area with tons of electric guitars hung on the walls as well as separate rooms for acoustic guitars, percussion instruments (drums, etc.), and pianos as well as smaller rooms for lessons.nnThey have a small section for brass instruments but it isn't their specialty; for many high school band type instruments, trumpets, flutes, etc Ted Brown down the road may be a better option but if you've seen it in a rock band, you'll find it here.
