I have just returned from the Romanian Consulate in Los Angels and had a great experience with the staff and the General Counsel himself. I was in urgent need of 3 powers of attorneys and used the consular e - platform to submit the documents. Within a couple of days I received a confirmation my documents were OK and was given the opportunity to schedule my appointment within 1 week. Upon my arrival to the Romanian Consulate in Los Angeles I had to observe the social distancing rules and found the office was well organized and social distancing was well implemented. There were very few people inside the room. The young lady that personally helped me was sweet and very helpful and went beyond to accommodate my needs. In addition, I was very impressed with the Counsel General himself who took an enormous amount of time to look at one of my powers of attorneys and correct it himself to make sure I was good from a legal stand point. I am so grateful for his genuine concern and all his help. Great experience overall.

I have been trying to renew my my passport online and schedule an appointment but it has been impossible to navigate the application process. I have been messaging back and forth on the portal with no success or useful guidance and information from them. When calling the consulate directly, 99.9% of the time the line is busy. The one time I got a live person to answer after being on wait for 30 min, they were short, rushed, did not answer my questions and abruptly hanged up the phone. There was a promise of an email that never arrived. Can someone please contact me with specific information as it refers to my application and guidance on what I need to do to finalize the process and get a passport. I cannot travel out of the country with an expired document.nnThank you.

Just finished talking on the phone with Andrei about renewing passport and registered as married and he said he will send me an email with all the info. When I asked to clarify one sentences for me he literally said he won't and will hang up on me because everyone in the world is trying to call. I was on the phone for 22 min from which I waited 20 min and talked 2. How is it possible to say that he will hung up on me in my face just for asking for help. I wasn't chatting, rude , needy or anything but short, clear and super polite. Why is this still happening in 2020 after all the reviews from people complaining about it? It doesn't matter they are in Bucharest because they're still connected to the consulate. Disappointing! Tristut!ud83dude14

Atrocious experience dealing with this Consulate. I had to wait 1 week after I completed several forms just to be able to schedule an appointment 5 WEEKS OUT for a simple form that I just had to pick up. Their emergency line is disconnected and will not return your call if you leave a voicemail. The lack of common sense goes beyond anything I have experienced. I will inform the Romanian Embassy about their lack of professionalism and will ensure my complains are heard and actions will be taken. Shame on you for treating Romanians miserably and interfering in the upcoming election. What a disgrace.
