In 1981, just before my Grandfather was buried there, I took as walk around the entire cemetery with my mother and I was 15 years old. We discovered that the back parts of the cemetery were being dug up and the gravestones placed in a pile. The really old graves were being systematically destroyed to make room for new graves, and as a budding historian, it sickened me. Since then, my Grandfather, my Grandmother and my Mother have been buried there, and their graves are intact for now. My concern is...when will they do this again? When will my loved one's graves be desecrated, like those before? If you have a connection to this cemetery, I suggest you help me find this out!
Not a place to celebrate at or jump for joy obviously your in a grieving state of mind but this place is beautiful
I have been visiting the chico Cemetery since I was a teenager. I have several family members here and the cemetery has always been well maintained and clean. I still visit about once a year and the roads are easy to navigate with reasonable gate hours.
My boheners feel very good in this most moistest of soils. When you get burried here you stay dud which is something I had a problem with with the last pet cemetery I tried to get into. Nice MoistDonalds across the street for me to look at for decades on end. Five stars.
It's a quint little Cemetery with a Small Town Charm. Don't much about the history yet and plan on checking it out one of these days. Always pass by when running errands.
