Lexington staple. A must visit, even if it's just for their plain donut.

Food is alright if they can make it right. I ordered a biscuit sandwich- should be simple. Sausage was missing on the first one so they remade it, egg set was wrong on the second one. I get messing it up once, that’s fine. But if you messed up someone’s food, make sure you get it right the second time. That’s food service basics. I paid $8 for a biscuit sandwich that they messed up twice. It’s not the first time this has happened either.

The best chocolate donut in town, and it isn't even close. I love their baked goods. The chicken sandwich I had from there, unfortunately, was cold. Oh well. Can't win them all, I suppose.

Update 3/5/21: Honestly there seems to be an issue every single time we go back - which speaks to the quality of their donuts. If you want good donuts - this is the place. Just expect items to be missing, expired or undercooked food, or a service problem each and every time.nnOriginal Post: I love the chocolate glazed donuts and they pair so well with their southern pecan coffee. I love that they are a Lexington institution and I’ve worked really hard to support them during the pandemic. I only give 4 stars for two reasons: (1) the service is...weird. I mean that those who staff the counter have always been too uninformed about the menu and aren’t too eager to help when it’s needed. (2) the non-pastry food can be a hit or a miss...you never really know which it’s gonna be. Once my wife and I both had rancid chicken salad where the chicken itself was clearly past its expiration. At other times they may or may not be willing to make fries. And still others, the food comes out wrong in ways that doesn’t make a lot of sense (but they always correct it!).nnOn the whole we’ve learned to skip the savory food and stick to the sweets and pastries - it is, after all, a bakery. And it’s a really good bakery. Especially the donuts.

Stopped in for breakfast and coffee with my boyfriend, received our order fairly quickly, staff was very friendly! The hot brown and triple threat were both incredibly delicious. We had no idea of the portion sizes and we almost couldn't eat it all! The southern pecan coffee was also very good, they added just the right amount of cream.
