Inn of the Beachcomber

They discriminate against people for race and age. They don’t let people to use jacuzzi unless you have stayed before. Terrible staff.

Hotel was not what I expected. Asked for jet tub and great views. I expressed how important the tub was.nWe got view of roof and large tree and even park. Tub was full of sand and still had ash on it from wildfires. No drain in tub so manager had to go to store to buy one. No hot water. Tv wasn’t working when we got here and when he fixed it when only had news channels. Not happy about my stay.

Staff were awesome! View was amazing! Room was not clean. No trash can, trash in the dresser, unknown substance in the tub. Fitted sheets didn't fit the bed. Top sheets and comforter stained. Holes in the wall, pieces missing from the tile. The chairs on the balcony were broken. No screen on the balcony door, and no A/C so it was VERY warm for sleeping.

Would not stay there if somebody paid me. We checked in. The lobby smelled musty, but I had already reserved the room so... When I got the room it smelled musty, looked dingy, the screen on the patio door was falling off, the main door had a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. It was about 1/2 an inch, you could clearly see outside through it. The mattress had an egg crate foam pad on top of it. So the looked lumpy (didn’t know they made this anymore). I wish I could post pictures here to show how bad it was and they refused to give me a refund. I was in the room all of 30 minutes before I left. I cut my losses and went elsewhere.

I have never written a bad review nor opted out of staying in a hotel for any reason. This is my exception. This place was not only in pretty poor shape (bad/strong smell, stained linens/large lumps all over bed, door appears to have been kicked in multiple times), but I got this really uneasy feeling being there. We stayed for 5 minutes before my gut feeling persuaded me to go to another hotel, even when I anticipated I couldn’t get a refund (luckily we booked with Hotels.com and our payment hadn’t processed yet). While the view from the room was beautiful, it could not make for the other issues. I would rather sleep in the driftwood shelter on the beach.
