For many years I wanted to learn to play the piano. Shortly after retiring from my nursing career I decided it was the right time for me to do this. I researched several piano teachers & came across Ben Unterbrink & decided to give him a try.nBen is an amazing teacher! He is knowledgeable, very professional & simplifies piano learning for me as a beginner & as an older adult beginner! I am amazed at myself how much I have learned from his teaching!nI highly recommend Ben!
I have been working with Ben for over a year and he's been a great teacher. I started out knowing nothing and I've progressed steadily because of his good advice and ways of communicating musical ideas. He knows not only the music theory, but also the history of different composers and pieces which makes him a valuable teacher.
Ben had been teaching my 1st and 3rd grader for over a year now, he makes sure they understand the fundamentals and challenges them according to their progress level. While we enjoyed learning from Ben's grand piano at his house, he has been very flexible doing skype lesson due to COVID and school schedule.
Good at explaining music from fundamental levels. Supplies music books for beginners at cost compared to Amazon. Flexible scheduling.nnFor pandemic concerns, was very capable of teaching over Skype, but protections for in person lessons seemed reasonable.
I am a college student at Ohio State, and I just started playing learning piano about a year ago as a complete beginner. Ben is a great teacher, and has taken me from someone who knows almost nothing about music to a level where I can play some difficult and fun pieces. He has been really flexible with scheduling lessons around my school and work. I highly recommend Ben!
