From TX-19 take Farm Rd 895 eastward almost 4 miles. Charleston Cemetery is on the north side of 895 (just 0.2 miles short of / west of Charleston United Methodist Church). Built on rolling prairie. 1 ranch-style welded entry name-gate using steel mesh painted white. Multiple styles of perimeter fence make it seem like 2 or 3 cemeteries linked together, but its manicured appearance thru-out the expansive grounds display a cohesive well-tended property. The perimeter fence & attached signs are in good shape.n✜ The Charleston Cemetery was begun when C. F.? McGuyer buried his first wife, Mary Ann Golithan, there in 1859 and later gave the land for a cemetery.n✜ Most markers in exceptional shape, some declining w/age.n✜ According to Find•A•Grave there are 601 graves here.
