Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Menu is bare bones- very few options. No orange cream soda in stock. Food was acceptable. The temperature was a bit too cool, especially sides and biscuits. Chicken breading on fried chicken is salty but edible as it was moist inside. Server was pretty good. It just didn't feel very customer service focused. I hope it goes back to normal soon.

Go here only for the country boy breakfast. Their steak is FANTASTIC! Better than most steakhouses in my opinion. And the meal is only 11 bucks. I usually get well done with my steaks, and I usually expect them to be dry anywhere I go, but here they are juicy and well-seasoned. Don't even need steak sauce!

Austin S. was our server. He was very courteous and so polite. He took our drink order, smiling with polite conversation. He brought my husband fresh coffee which was very appreciated. Our food was fresh and hot. Everything was perfectly done just the way we ordered it. Austin was such a nice host/server. We felt very welcomed while there.nI DO MISS THE COOKED CABBAGE AND LIMA BEANS. They were my two favorite side dishes I always ordered.

Only negative is the biscuits. The biscuits are obviously frozen now. They come out dry, crumbly, and usually over baked. Holly waited on us and was a sweetheart, as usual. My husband ordered the sirloin, fries, and green beans. The sirloin was a good looking, large juicy hunk of meat, cooked perfectly medium. I ordered grilled catfish with light on the spicy seasoning, green beans, and coleslaw. Man, was it good! The catfish has a mild flavor with just enough spice. Perfect! And the coleslaw was a tasty addition. Overall, our meal was pretty darned good!

First I will say I was very pleasantly surprised by the taste and amount of food we got. I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in years because of bad previous experiences. Since then I always thought of them to be overpriced for mediocre food. The family and I were on vacation in Tennessee and everyone was hungry. We didn't want fast food so this was our only option. They were busy so there was an acceptable wait which didn't last as long as we were told. The waitress was friendly and attentive. When we received our meals I was surprised at the portions and was even more surprised at the taste. This encounter has changed my mind on them to the point to trying one here in Florida. I hope I am not let down.
