Ridiculously high bill. I keep my thermostat between 71 and 75 degrees. Home is less than 1300 Sq feet and just received bill for 202 dollars. CPW and Duke Energy are lot more reasonable. When looking for a home make sure it is not in an area served by Broad River.

For the next home my family purchases, it will NOT be in the area where Broad River Electric is the only power supply. Since we've purchased our home, our power bill continues to rise. Each winter we have nearly a $400 power bill after keep our heat on 68 degrees. We are dressed as if we are going out in the snow and still paying an outrageous amount of money for power. Typically, I pay our power bill through my online banking however I missed the date to have it paid on time so I went to the office to pay it directly. The office was closed so I called in to make my payment to which I was charged a $4 convenience fee. This is absurd!!! If you can't take my payment in the office and I'm forced to pay over the phone, there is no reason I should be charged a fee on top of my already ridiculous high power bill. I will never every buy another home in the district of this power company! I complete crook!

At first i experienced a problem with getting my service connected for the first time, but luckily the supervisor was good in handling my situation i was in...she turned the negativity i experienced the day before and made it positive for me. She also worked with me on some other things as well. Everything went smoothly for me i ended up getting prepaid power which i was cautious about at first but so far it has worked out good for me. I haven't had to make a payment yet since i got it cut on which is good since money is tight right now. I hope everything continues to work out fine and i don't inquire any bad experiences and end up being disappointed..
