I flew up to Seattle after finding that my long-sought relatives were interred in “Mt. Pleasant Cemetery”. I was extremely distressed to learn the Aunt and Uncle who died as children are buried in Section F which hasn’t been maintained in decades. I couldn’t find them as they are among over two dozen headstones lying under brambles and a detritus of leaves and branches thrown over the cemetery’s not “well-maintained” grounds. Some of their first eternal customers languish hidden in inaccessible rows of graves, forgotten and ignored. I tried to find their graves to no avail as the whole section looks like a Steven King cemetery horror movie with headstones jutting out of bramble bushes. After talking with their indifferent manager, Melony, she dismissed this condition as low priority for their groundskeepers and while on a vague must do list, “couldn’t tell me when” this section would get the attention promised my grandfather when he buried his kids there. So much for an eternal peace, care and access to those wishing to say a prayer above their graves. Shame on Mt. Pleasant and their current owners, the Neil Edwards family. To continue to bury the dear departed while ignored those that came before is criminal.nnHello to Tom Lawrence the new owner. It would be wonderful if you had your garden crew spend a couple of days to clear the 50' x 300' section F to reveal all the headstones of the cemetery's first interred. I would appreciate being able to visit the children's graves of Alice and Charles Fiset interred in 1910 and 1908 in grave 59 and 41, W RI section F. There must be 50 or so lost souls resting places hidden in the underbrush. Please advise as I'd fly up to pay my respects.
