Nice place to visit and view some burial plots from the 1800’s. Historical markers around the cemetery tell of notable people and events that took place. Confederate soldiers were buried there and there it is one of the largest slave burial plots mixed in with non slaves.
We go to both the Confederate Cemetery and to the Union Cemetery in Marietta, GA at least once a year - to thoughtfully honor veterans who died for what they believed were just causes for their country. We live in a time of self-centered gratification - and it's good for the soul to know that some people were so dedicated to what they believed that they were willing to die for the cause.
A place that will take you back through time to learn more about our history...that was a trumbling times full of tears scars sorrow blood and glory...Gral. George Pickett failed to take the bridge at Gettysburg....his Division of 15,000 men was gone in less than 2 hrs...as they got exposed at short range artillery & shrapnel from the Union sildiers when they first came out of the bushes while charging against the Union lines....the war was fought for the independence of the Confederate States of America...a country that wasn't meant to be...There's no country without history as there's no achievement with no sacrifice...but we have to remember that all gave some and some gave all....Never ever let anybody erase manipulate or destroy your history.
