When I moved back to Virginia from the San Francisco Bay Area where I was entrenched in the large passionate food community, Inwas in withdrawl for some great bread and bakery items. Luckily for me I met Louise at the Old Beach Farmer's Market where she was selling her bread, learning her skill through the Tartine Bakery cookbook. Hallelujah! Amazing sourdough bread and now a Bakery in Cape Charles where I drive from Virginia Beach to stock up. The baguettes and their crust is an instantaneous trip back to the Bay Area. Don't miss an opportunity to taste their amazing fare. Worth every minute of the drive!
Two things. 1) the custom carrot cake they did for a birthday was moist and flavorful with a nice, rich cream cheese icing. 2) The country ham sandwich was delicious and peppery, with just a little bit of spice on a legitimate baguette. Great food!
I purchased a loaf of sourdough bread and a cinnamon bun on Saturday. They were both magically delicious! I have had a lot sourdough and this is top-notch! The crust design is like meticulous piece of art! I will be back for more.

Phenomenal is the only word I can use to describe their pastries. Highly recommend the breakfast egg bacon chive muffins, Cinnamon twists and the almond crescents. We went two days in a row ans had to go back for seconds. So good! Staff is friendly. Line up early...there was a little wait in line due to the social distancing.
