Quite possibly best homemade food in the county. Best chicken wrap I've ever had, super fresh. Chunky homemade potato salad.nHamburger yesterday was a big juicy burger with home cut fries . Big portions. Yummy milkshakes. Homemade pies just perfect.nVery reasonable prices and friendly service.nCan't ask for anything more.

I had lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy.nA sign said to seat yourselfnand I sat down in a booth near the back.nAfter a short wait, I ordered the grilled chicken without the pepper jack cheesenwith a salad and ice tea.nThe order arrived in about fifteen minutes. The bun was toasted with mayo and had chicken, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce.nA great tasting sandwich with a leafy green salad. The server checked in on me several times and refilled my iced tea.nShe asked me if I wanted pie and pointed to a board with a large selection. I selected peach pie to go. The pie had a great crust and the peaches were firm without an overwhelming amount of sugar.nI would recommend this cafe near the Sheep Rock Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds.

Hidden Gem is the best way to describe a place like this. Painted Hills 10 oz rib eye dinner with all fixin’s and a selection from a list of PIES included in the price of the meal and Impeccable service. You would be hard pressed to find another restaurant in the entire State of Oregon with the capability to serve a party of 9. Pie slices so big you can get a “half” of a slice. Bravo!

This is the dream diner you hope to find after a long road trip. Delicious food, fantastic staff that make you feel like family and the homemade pies are incredible. Having a meal at this gem was a highlight of our trip. Great chicken strips, real and lumpy mashed potatoes with country gravy, thick milkshakes and we brought pie back to where we were staying. Apple jalapeño and strawberry rhubarb. Amazing! A terrific place. Currently they are not open for breakfast. 11am to 7pm and closed Mondays and Tuesdays when we were visiting.

A very pleasant place to stop for a meal. Ambiance is great. Service was great. The hamburger and the pie was really good. This place actually has pie worth eating.
