horrible, worst carrier.. freight moves very slow. freight sat in Newark NJ for 2 days. took forever. stay clear of siai . You will not get your freight on time. never saw freight go through so many hubs, move a inch at a time.nIf your destination is anywhere near NYC it gets even worse.

Worst ltl service I've ever encountered. Was schedule for Thursday between 8am and 11am, sound great I let my customers know they should be able to pickup on Friday just to give me extra time for delays. Thursday comes and goes without a delivery so I call and they tell me I got rescheduled for Friday morning. Okay fine, it'll be tight but doable. Friday comes and goes and I call again, I'm rescheduled for Monday morning now. It's now Monday at 12:30pm (scheduled from 8am - 11am) and nothing has arrived. Now they say I'm going to be getting delivery from 4pm - 7pm, I don't think this is ever going to actually get here. I told them we close at 5 so hopefully I don't have a pallet sitting somewhere around the store all night.nnStick with YRC, CONWAY or FedEx freight if you want your delivery to come.

Saia deliverrd a damged tub after 5 pm to a construction site a few months ago but the driver noted it was damaged.nWhen the replacement tub was scheduled for delivery at least 4 emails confirmed the delivery as between 10 and 4 on June 19 with a notation that I would be called by driver 30 min in advance. When I called Saia at 4 pm to find out what happened, I was told my shipment had been given to another carrier and no one knew when it would come. After balking about what happened I received assurances they would push the other carrier for a delivery that evening. I asked to be called 30 min in advance of drivers arrival and Saia agreed.nAt about 7:30 pm I decuded to drive to the site and await the arrival. Upon reaching the site I noticed a truck unloading the 575 lb tub to a neigjbiring driveway. I questioned the driver who insisted that he was delivering to the right address. After significan argument he relentednand checked his paperwork and saw the mistake he was making.nBOTTOM LINE:Saia is not very good at managing valuable freight.
