Betts Cemetery

As was the tradition prior to the Civil War this was a traditional owner and slave cemetery. However it may have included a common church. Later the white families moved away or died out leaving a few gravestones and the African American community then continued to use these grounds. No monuments were provided by the black community that I can find so the records of this graveyard records are nonexistent. Even the stones left are all broken. Grave sinks of unknown souls are present.nI am not aware of the level of crossing private property included to visit this premise. When I was here I tried to reassemble the old box tomb that had broken and fallen into disrepair.
