Such a rare treat to do business directly with a highly knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate craftsman. Jeff did beautiful work restoring my great grandfather's violin bow. He was gently honest about the quality of my great grandfather's violin that was in need of a substantial amount of restoration only to become somewhat playable again. For my intended purposes, it simply would not do. I greatly appreciated that advice and bought a really nice Kenmore violin that sounds great and won't hinder my progress towards becoming a proficient player.
Im currently renting a Cello from the shop. The owner is very knowledgeable in his field and will do a great job helping you find an instrument that will work for you.
Jeff has informally appraised bows and violins that I have shown him, and performed repairs on the spot at low cost. On my request, he showed me four old violins in my price range that he had expertly refurbished. I purchased one. I got a mellow, solid instrument at a reasonable price.
